How to Insert Your Cup
Clean Hands – Always First!
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after inserting your cup. Clean hands are just as important as a clean cup to prevent bacteria or toxins from entering your body and causing infections, especially if you have any cuts or abrasions.
Fold Your Cup
To fold your Bfree Cup, we recommend the "punch down" fold. This fold helps counteract the opening forces of the cup, ensuring it opens evenly once inserted. The most important thing is to choose a fold that feels comfortable and makes insertion easier for you.
Insert Your Cup
Relax and get comfortable—this will become second nature over time. The more relaxed your pelvic muscles are, the easier insertion will be. Whether standing, sitting, or squatting, find the position that works best for you. Separate your labia and gently insert the folded cup into your vagina. If you need some extra lubrication, wet the cup with water (avoid silicone-based lube; water-based is fine). Once the cup is inserted, release the fold and let it pop open. Make sure you keep the fold until the cup is fully in place.
Clean Hands – Again!
As with insertion, wash your hands thoroughly before removing your Bfree Cup. Clean hands are essential for hygiene and preventing infection.
Find a Comfortable Position
Choose a stable and comfortable position for removal—whether sitting over the toilet, squatting, or standing in the shower. This will give you the best control.
Break the Seal & Remove
Pinch the base of the cup using your index finger and thumb to break the seal. DO NOT pull on the stem until the seal is broken, as it can cause discomfort and put unnecessary pressure on your cervix. After breaking the seal, gently pull the base to remove the cup. The stem will help guide you to the base, but the actual removal should be done by gripping the base of the cup, not the stem.
